Banbury Cross Walk
Written By: Hobee
This is one of my favorite days of the year. Annie and Julie take Fergus and I to the Banbury Cross Walk! The girls raise money by making this walk through the beautiful fall countryside. Fergus and I run, off lease, through the woods. We see tons of people, other dogs, and even horses! I'm still not sure about horses.

Hobee meets horse
Written By: Hobee
I met a horse today! During our annual Banburry Cross Charity Walk we went by a horse farm. I was curious. Never seen one of these things before. They seemed interested in me too.

4th of July Redo
Written by: Hobee
OK. Take two on the fireworks. Last week, Pam and John saw the fireworks. But it was only one "Grand Beginning/ Finale" because the raft holding the fireworks caught fire. So they tried again. Someone thought it was a good idea to take me (a dog) to the fireworks. Not only that, but RIGHT UNDER the Lake Orion fireworks. A little too close for comfort. I was not a fan. Stayed hugging someone the entire time. Maybe this is someone else's bag.

Halloween

Halloween is great. This year we went to see Aunt Donna, Lynn, and Bella. Bella and I hung out while Dan, Annie, Lynn, and Aunt Donna went to the Lions game. The game was great. Just like last year, it was blocked out And like last year, we got to go. And like last year, they won!
When we got back we all had dinner. Got into costumes (yes, Dan has a fluffy dog that Annie puts into clothes. We try to limit it as much as possible though), and handed out candy. It was such a good Halloween.

Banbury Cross Walk A Thon
Written by: Hobee
For the second year we did the Banbury Cross Walk A Thon. Banbury is the place Annie and Cameron go for riding lessons (and the reason Fergus and I hang out on Saturdays). The group at Banbury is great. They do a ton of good work, and help a lot of people.
We took a different path this year. It was great. Fergus and I walked the entire route off leash. We played, ran around, and behaved the whole time.

Lake Orion Flower Fair
Written By: Hobee
Dan and Annie got back late Saturday night from wine tasting. I was shipped off to stay with Pam and John (not a bad gig - they have a new lazy boy). After they picked me up we went to the Lake Orion Flower Fair with Dick, Rick, and Maryann. It was a fun. Dogs are welcome, they had a live bad, and Annie didn't buy anything (shocking). Even more shocking, Annie and I got arrested. Apparently the cops heard of her J-walking past and my thuggish mentality. In no time short we were in the back of a squad car. Thank goodness we are both cute - or we'd be behind bars today.
The flower fair doesn't take long to walk. Actually, Downtown Lake Orion doesn't take long to walk. If you have a free hour next year I would recommend it.

Banbury Cross Walk-A-Thon
Today I did a 5 mile walk-a-thon with Annie, her friend Julie, and my buddy Fergus. We had a great time with lots of new sniffs on the back road trails. Fergus and I even met a few horses along the way. The money we raised goes to the Banbury Cross Riding Stables which provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with disabilities.

Hobee's Honeymoon Vacation

Just like the newly-weds, I had a vacation of my own! Boy did I need it. As some of you know, I had quite the exciting wedding. Though I was there for the proposal, I was not invited to the wedding. Not happy about that, Layla and I tried to crash the party. We broke out of the groomsmen house a few times and tried to get on the party bus; but Charlie kept throwing us back in. So after they left we broke out of the house! Our escape was not successful though. Layla got picked up by the Crystal Mountain Police, and I ended up spending the afternoon on the porch of Aunt Donna's cottage. On a positive note, I did make a new friend. This Uncle Chuck guy just might be the 7th person I get along with. I’m becoming quite the social butterfly.
Anyway, after all that excitement I needed a vacation. Annie and Danny gave me just what I needed - a 10 day "cruise" and on the USS "Casa de Alessandro." It was quite the good time. During the day we had excursions to exotic places called "the Polyann trail" and "Tim Horton's." During these excursions we visited with the locals, and tried the local cuisine. While this Tim guy makes a mean dish called a“Tim-bit,” I wouldn't recommend eating at the Polyann trail.
Night time entertainment was fantastic! Some of the best shows included: Partying on the top deck - singing and guitar playing (I'm quite the singer too you know) - and comedy hour with the Spags.
With the excursions and night time entertainment came much R& R time. I got daily love, pets, and attention by my favorite person - Vanessa. And was able to sleep all night on the bed with my Grandparents (something I am not allowed to do at home). My favorite place is on an abandoned pillow. I even got to sleep on John's head a few times!
Last but not least was the food! The USS "Casa De Alessandro" is known for their fine doggy dishes - but this vacation set new records. I didn't eat one kibble of the food Dan packed for me. Chef John gave me daily treats, scraps, and this new kind of dog food called "wet food." It is the best thing I’ve ever tasted. It’s like they took my favorite foods (Goose Poop, crumbs, and crackers) and combined it into a super substance. I ate so much; I might weigh 11 pounds now!
We got back late yesterday afternoon. Dan slept 10 hours last night. Annie 11. I'm going on 19 hours and am still not ready to get off the beanbag.
What a great vacation!
