Though a day early - the Nuspire crew celebrated Pi Day today at the Nuspire NOC. True to Pi Pi Cake traditions, we had great times (though the work party lacked the sexual overtones of a normal Pi day celebration). Events included: best pie, most memorized digits of Pi, and (for a dontation to charity) throwing pie at your manager.Friday, March 13, 2009

Why I don't get along with Vince
Assumption: The antonym for Invincable would be vincable.
I would not say I am invincable. I hurt (mostly on the inside). I am Vincable - able to be vinced. Though not easily. I think a more accurate term would be that I am "Vince-resistant."
... and that is why I don't like guys named Vince.

The Land of St. Kitts
Some interesting facts about St. Kitts:
- One of a handful of places with black sand beaches.
- Swearing is illegal! $500 fine for first offense, jail for repeat offenders.
- The taxi drivers stay with you the entire time you go out. So if you go to dinner, they wait for you to finish and take you back. The taxi driver will take you around all day for about $11!
- The locals speak English, but also have a language consisting of English words, but at such a fast pace and rhythm you cannot understand one syllable. It sounds like a completely different language all together. Slaves started it during the slave trade days of the island as a way to talk around the owner's.

New Orleans - NADA
New Orleans hosted the 2009 NADA (National Automotive Dealer Convention), and thus the Nuspire Networks crew. Dan attended from last Saturday to Tuesday morning. Great times (Burbon St), good food (hurricanes, alligator, crawdads, shrimp, calamari, peanut butter burgers), and good business. A great city - and it
has come back a lot since Katrina.

California Dreaming
Manhattan Beach
While most people in Michigan froze all weekend, Dan had a weekend in Los Angeles. LA is experiencing unusually warm temperatures right now - on the first day in town it got up to 85 degrees. For part of the weekend there was a 100 degree temperature change from LA to Detroit!
After meetings with clients Wednesday through Friday, Dan spent most of the weekend in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach with Dennis. A day at the Ocean, a jaunt up to Sainte Rock, great weather, more than a few drinks, and a good friend is a much better way to spend the weekend.
