Cody, WY

Before heading into Yellowstone, we made one last stop so Annie could get some work done—and we’re so glad we chose Cody, Wyoming.

On our first night, we went to the Cody Night Rodeo, and it was an absolute blast. The kids loved every minute of it. They dressed up in their cowboy boots and hats to match the occasion. A rainstorm just before the show turned the arena into a muddy mess, which only added to the adventure! At one point, they called all the kids down to the arena. When ours came back, they had to dump mud out of their boots!

The next day, while Annie worked, the kids and I explored the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. We caught a great presentation on owls that everyone enjoyed. Later, we wrapped up our Cody experience with old-time photos and a Wild West gunfight reenactment downtown.

These moments were more than just fun—they were true core memories for the whole family. Cody was the perfect way to gear up for our Yellowstone adventure.
