February 23, 2013, Aunt Donna and Lynn hosted a joint baby shower for cousin Heather and me.  We had a great time full of virgin Bellini's for the prego ladies, tasty appetizers and lunch.  "It's Raining Baby Girls" was the theme and everywhere we looked there were pink balloons, pink ribbons, pink and white cookies in the shapes of lambs, rattles, storks, and cribs.  Heather and I really enjoyed being able to open our presents together and so far share in such an amazing experience together.  I am due May 1, 2013 and Heather is due May 22, 2013.  We hope our girls will grow to be great friends and cousins.  We can't wait for them to meet!

Annie's 30th Birthday

Today Annie turns the big 3-0!  You may ask how a young lady, entering a new decade, spends her last moments in her 20's.  Well, for Annie, it is different from others.  As she put it, her day stated out by "getting my hair did."  After that she did what every woman in their 30's wants - to go see dinosaurs.    Yep, we headed to the Detroit Science Center.  They had a display of what Dinosaurs looked like back in the day.   Apparently, some the baby T-Rex had hair and feathers.

After leaving the D, we headed to Victoria's.  A little bistro in downtown Oxford Annie.  Very nice.  Fresh food, local wine, and great service.

The last stop of the night was the patio at BW3s in Lake Orion.  We were joined by Kevin, Tots, my mom, John, Sarah, Tony, Sam, and Susanna.  A dozen or so of us sat, overlooking the Lake, and celebrating our Old Lady.

Annie Blades a Marathon

What a weekend!  Friday morning we dropped off Hobee to spend the weekend peeing on his favorite girl, Vanessa.  After work Annie and I headed to Grand Rapids to hang out with Charlie and Mary.  We had a blast.  The cooks cooked us up a great meal (turkey burgers, a home made salad, and grilled veggies).  After dinner we played Beer Pong and Euchre until we crashed out.  After another great breakfast meal we headed to Chicago. 

The purpose of the short drive to Chicagoland was Annie's In-Line Skate Marathon.  Annie has been training for weeks.  She did a great job.  We did a great job to prep: We scouted the track the day before,we  ate a good pasta dinner (with Penny and Erin), watched a marathon (Jersey Shore marathon on MTV) and got a good night's sleep.



 
The next morning Erin made us breakfast (what awesome friends do we have -we owe a few couples some pretty impressive meals after these last few days). We then headed to the meet.  Annie dressed to blade, and Erin in I in custom made (by Erin) "You Roll, Girl" tee shirts.

The marathon was held at the AT&T complex in Hoffman Estates, up the road from the Himmelspach residence.  It was a great venue.  It held sponsors, runners, bikers, spectators, and a mess of nervous rollerbladers (Annie being one).  After the race started we realized how fast this marathon was.  Some of the serious bladers skated by in a perfect line to start their SECOND lap before we could blink.  Annie was not far behind.   Annie has been training for weeks, and put up even better speeds than expected.  After a little more than an hour she was done, tired, and proud.  She was great. We celebrated by taking her out to breakfast.  We had already eaten once, but when you finish at 10:30 you don't have many choices for a celebration venue.

Dan preformed magic at the Nuspire Christmas party. Dan's show (the Great Danweenie presents Bad Magic) started poorly. Until the grand finale, his best trick might have been making beers disappear on stage. However, with the help of his lovely assistant, Annie, they ended with a great trick. Houdini's Metamorphosis.

Annie Graduated! We are so happy! So Proud. She didn't even know until she read the program, but she graduated with honors. She should have figured since she recorded the highest clinical grade in the history of the school while at Bay City - however since she actually enjoys what she is learning she didn't pay much attention to the grade. What a dork!

We were all smiles as we headed to Troy Athens high School to see the cermony. Annie was all smiles as she crossed the stage, hugged her teachers, and recieved a very nice pin. She really enjoyed school (I know, what a dork!); and his hoping keep in touch, teach, or follow Carnegie program.

After the ceremony we went to Julia's house for a BBQ and celebration. The it was a great time. Good people, food, dogs, and a baby (who likes to feed dogs).

We've been blessed with so much to celebrate. Our wedding, friends/family weddings, birthdays, and a graduation. Kevin said he is tired of celebrating us. By the time he gets a job the family will be tired of celebrating and probibly just kick him out of the without much fanfare.
