Annie and Heather's shower

Written By: Annie

February 23, 2013, Aunt Donna and Lynn hosted a joint baby shower for cousin Heather and me.  We had a great time full of virgin Bellini's for the prego ladies, tasty appetizers and lunch.  "It's Raining Baby Girls" was the theme and everywhere we looked there were pink balloons, pink ribbons, pink and white cookies in the shapes of lambs, rattles, storks, and cribs.  Heather and I really enjoyed being able to open our presents together and so far share in such an amazing experience together.  I am due May 1, 2013 and Heather is due May 22, 2013.  We hope our girls will grow to be great friends and cousins.  We can't wait for them to meet!

Barbados

Written By: Dan

This year's manager's trip was in Barbados.  Another great island in the Caribbean.  It is a larger, more developed (like Grand Cayman).    It is also very expensive (like Cayman).  We stayed at Tamarind Hotel on the West side of the Island.  A great resort with three pools, high scale restaurants  and a great beach.  While casual by day, the resort was elegant by night.  Patrons were asked to wear dress clothes and pants after nightfall.

Our first day I attempted the annual shark hunt.  Still no luck (6 years in a row).  On Wednesday we went snorkeling  and headed to dinner at the Ocean House.   Thursday we toured the island.  That included local shopping in Hole Town, visiting Animal Flower Cave (where apparently Billy Ocean filmed the music video for "Caribbean Queen," and a tour of St. Nicholas Abby.  I now have a single cask bottle of rum with my name on it.  Annie has a bump on her head from the cave.  That night we went to a local bar called Groots.  I had the local dish, Roti.  Roti is basically a burrito.  I had mine with chicken, potatoes, and jerk sauce.  The last day was spent by the pool, and company meeting.  We headed to a local rum shop (bar) for dinner at a place called Boston Jerk.  This was not a tourist destination.  They do open pit jerk bbq.  We orderd a bottle of Rum and jerk burgers.  Maybe the best meal of the day.

FW: Super Bowl block party

Written By: Dan

We started the Manager's trip off with a weekend stop in Fort Lauderdale.  Drew came with us.  We spent Saturday doing a little shopping, and dinner at sea watch.  On Sunday we went down to the Pier to watch the SuperBowl.  A few of the restaraunts (Ocean 101, Village Pump, and Village Grill) set up tables and two large screens.  It was great to watch the game outside.
