We kicked off the Grand Teton portion of our trip with a river adventure. At 6 a.m., Faith, Lainey, and I set out for a guided rafting trip. While it wasn’t quite the adrenaline rush Faith had hoped for, the scenery was stunning, the guide was informative, and the wildlife was impressive—we spotted seven bald eagles! By the end, we didn’t even bother taking photos. It started to feel like spotting deer back home.
After our early morning on the river, the kids were ready for some downtime, so Annie and I took advantage of the break to head to Colter Bay and tackle the growing pile of laundry. It turned into a bit of an impromptu date—we explored the visitor center, chatted with a ranger, and took a short hike around the bay while the clothes were in the wash. Fortunately, everything was ready just as we returned.
That evening, we found a cozy spot in the lodge lobby to read, snack, and relax while the sun set behind the mountains—a peaceful end to a full day.
